WHY DO I Want to teach?
I grew up in Denver, CO with a younger brother and a younger sister. For as far back as I can remember, I used to play "teacher" with my younger siblings. When they outgrew wanting to sit and listen to me "teach" them, I simply swapped them out with any stuffed animals I could find around my house. I also had vivid memories of sitting in classes in elementary school and judging my teachers. I remember sitting in my desk and thinking to myself, "If I was teaching this lesson, I would do x, y, z instead." One day I brought these thoughts and observations to my mother and she suggested teaching as a career for me and I have never looked anywhere else because it made too much sense. When I applied to the University of Mary, I knew I had found the place that would help me live out my dream to its fullest.
